It’s not always easy to know what God wants for your life. It can be hard enough when you have a solid foundation, but it can feel impossible when everything is changing around you, and it feels like there are no answers to the questions that come up.
But even if you don’t have all the answers, just because we don’t know exactly where we will end up doesn’t mean God won’t lead us to beautiful places. Maybe He has something unique waiting for us on the other side of this current path, or perhaps He’s leading us in a completely different direction with a fantastic destination awaiting us.
We may never find out until we get there, but either way, our faithful Father will walk beside us the entire journey.
The best advice I ever got was to stay in motion and keep going because every step we take towards the edge of our comfort zone is one more step closer to a breakthrough or an answer.
We might think that never taking action will prevent us from getting hurt, but more than anything, it can hold us back from truly experiencing everything that God has for us.
What does God want for your life?
So if you’re right now asking what God wants for your life, just remember, He’s always guiding you, so try not to get caught up on what other people are doing with their lives or where they believe you should end up. Even if everyone else ahead of you seems like they have it all together, no one knows precisely where they are going or what lies ahead.
God will use you in whatever way He wants to, and believe me when I say that it’s no accident that you came to this point in your life at this point because there is work for you to do. You might not know exactly how the pieces fit together right now, but remember, He does!
Now is an important time in your life, and you don’t want to miss it, so remember God is faithful even when we aren’t. Even when things are uncertain, and we feel like we have no control over our future, Jesus doesn’t let us down. He will never leave us or abandon us because He loves us completely.
So whether you need encouragement right now or just a reminder that God has every step of this journey planned out for you, take a look at these ten clues that God wants fantastic things for your life:
1. You Have A Clear Purpose
If there is one thing I know about my life, I love helping people discover their God-given purpose, encouraging them while they work towards their dreams. I have always had a heart for people, and I enjoy encouraging others, so growing up, I thought that meant becoming a psychologist or being a therapist.
However, I quickly realized that graduate school wasn’t for me. But after going through everything that I have in my life, God revealed that my heartfelt desire was still to help others discover their purpose and a sense of direction.
Whether your big vision is doing something you never dreamed of achieving or following in someone’s footsteps, there will be many struggles along the way, but if you walk in faith and trust God with the details, He will never let you down.
2. You Know Who You Are
It’s hard to walk in faith when we’re living life without a sense of identity, but that’s exactly where so many people find themselves these days. Our culture has sent all kinds of mixed messages about who is acceptable and what it means to be successful, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what other people think because their opinions don’t determine your worth.
As long as you know your purpose and remember Whose hand you have in your life, everything else will fall into place eventually. If anything defines us more than our past mistakes or current circumstances, it’s the relationship we have with God and how He sees us.
3. You’ve Made A Decision
It’s a sure sign that you’re living life on your terms if you’ve decided to take action towards fulfilling the vision of whatever it is that makes you happy, even when no one else believes in you or what you can do.
I have seen so many people make significant decisions despite the opinions of others because they had faith in themselves and knew where they were going.
Don’t quit before giving things a chance to work out just because other people disapprove. Never forget that you’re unique and someone to be valued! Believe in yourself enough to know that there will be consequences for every decision we make regardless of who agrees with our choices.
4. You’re Ready For A Change
Don’t live a life without direction because you believe your family would disapprove. If you know deep in your heart that something needs to change but don’t have the courage for whatever reason, seek God’s guidance over any human being’s advice.
We become what we focus on, so if you want more kindness, then focus on being kind to people, and if you want more success, think about others who are successful and what they are doing differently.
The only way forward is through positive change. As painful as it may seem at first, remember it will all be worth it in the end when everything falls into place perfectly (even though there will be some bumps in the road along the way).
5. You Believe In Miracles
I grew up in a Christian home and went to church every Sunday, but it wasn’t until I decided to begin a relationship with Jesus Christ that God started to change my life because He said He would!
Even when everything looks bleak and you think no one is listening, keep pushing through your struggles because miracles do happen all the time.
If you’re living without fear and trusting God with every detail, from getting the promotion you deserve or finally finding financial freedom, there’s nothing He can’t do.
So continue putting your faith into action by doing things that will get you closer to where you want to be while believing in everything you do.
6. You Believe In Second Chances
It’s a good sign if you’re still willing to believe that life will change for the better after a significant loss because, without that kind of faith, there would be no hope.
Hold on to your dreams and pray that God will help guide you down the right path, avoid making wrong decisions out of fear or being influenced by negative people, and always stay positive no matter how much pressure may be bearing down on your shoulders.
You are never alone, so don’t forget to ask others who are there for emotional support to help you through tricky times too!
7. You Are Open To New Experiences
This one is hard when it comes to living with friends or family members who don’t like the way you live because these are often the people in our lives who offer the most criticism and negativity.
Just remember that it’s your life to live and no one else’s, so if they disagree with the decisions you make, then choose not to let their opinions affect you; otherwise, those negative feelings will become toxic.
Be open-minded when it comes to trying new things, too, because we all need a change of pace every now and again!
8. You Are A Good Listener
Some people spend more time talking about themselves than actually listening to what other people have to say. However, genuinely successful individuals take time to soak up what everyone has to offer instead of only thinking about what they will say next.
You never know what you might learn from another person because we all have a story to tell, and there’s always going to be something new that inspires us in some way, so take time out of your day to listen more instead of speaking less!
9. You Find New Ways To Improve Yourself Everyday
Remember always be a student of life who’s willing to try anything new because you never know where your next success will come from when improving yourself as an individual.
You can learn a lot from the most mundane situations, so never be afraid to try something new or go someplace where you’re unfamiliar.
Another way you can become more curious is by stepping outside of your comfort zone. These situations put you in places where you’ll have to learn and grow from new experiences.

Just remember that if something makes you uncomfortable, it means it’s worth trying. You’ll learn valuable lessons about yourself when you experience discomfort—more than you could ever remember when you’re feeling at ease.
10. You Know How To Have Fun!
The last thing that should define you is what kind of job title you have or how rich or well-known you are. Instead, it can be those little things that make us laugh each day and bring out our best selves.
Do you have enough fun in your life?
Set aside time for yourself each week so that you can relax your mind and body without distractions from work or life obligations. Think about what makes you happy, then prioritize those activities first before doing anything else.
Life shouldn’t be stressful so remember to find time for fun wherever you can!
You can do many things to get yourself back on track, but it will take effort and determination from you to make those differences happen.
If you’re having trouble figuring out how to start, then just remember that every new journey requires a first step, so take the steps needed to live life differently than before.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life, so don’t let another day go by without deciding to choose joy because your dreams are waiting for you, so follow them now while there’s still time left!
