It’s summer in Michigan right now and the days are glorious! Whether you are headed to the great outdoors to hike, camp, bike, or go for a walk along the lake, there are a few staples to have on hand to keep everyone happy and enjoying nature.

Peppermint Essential Oil:

Summertime means heat, especially if you like the outdoors!

I’ll never forget the vacation when the entire family went on a tour of a facility on a brutally hot day. The facility had no air conditioning. It was a challenge to stay focused and listen to the guide with sweat streaming down your back! I whipped out my bottle of Peppermint essential oil and applied it topically on the back of my neck and back of my knees and passed the bottle around to the rest of the family. After that, we all could go back to enjoying the tour. It really helped each of us cool off – amazing! The naturally occurring constituent menthol leaves your skin feeling tingly and cool.

Purification Essential Oil Blend:

This blend is made up of six essential oils for the ultimate weapon against odors. Citronella, Lavandin, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Myrtle, and Tea Tree work together to create a refreshing, bright scent that keeps you and your family happy and comfortable. For instance, try sprinkling a few drops on a cotton ball and put it in stinky shoes, musty tents, and dirty bags. Or when the odors in the car get to be too much – put a few drops on a wooden clothespin and clip it to the car vent for a DIY diffuser!

Citronella Essential Oil:

Get pesky annoyances outdoors? Citronella is well known for its use in outdoor candles, sprays, lotions, and other camping and outdoor essentials. Diffuse or apply Citronella for an annoyance free environment! It’s even very easy to make your own Citronella candles. Contact me if you’d like a recipe.

Lavender Essential Oil:

Too much sun? Lavender is great at a lot of things, but its ability to soothe the skin after a day in the sun is unlike anything else. One idea is to try mixing Lavender essential oil and Peppermint essential oil with a carrier oil and apply to areas that have been exposed to the sun.

Lavender can also help cleanse and soothe minor skin irritations. This oil’s versatility makes it needed in almost any situation. Plus, the relaxing aroma really helps to balance the body and mind as you and your family unwind after a long day.

Cypress Essential Oil:

As you are hiking up steep elevations, apply Cypress along your shins and ankles. Do you wear compression socks while you’re active? Cypress and compression socks work synergistically together to help you feel your best!

Deep Relief Essential Oil Roll-On:

Hiking, biking and moving around a lot? Deep Relief provides your tired muscles with a deep, cooling sensation that will inspire greater feelings of energy to help you stay motivated and active. With nine invigorating essentials oils like Wintergreen, Dorado Azul, Peppermint, and Copaiba it’s the perfect companion for any adventure!

KidScents Owie:

If you have active kids, Owie is a must. With powerful oils like Balsam fir, Tea Tree, Elemi, and Helichrysum, it’s effective and convenient to apply. Owie is already pre-diluted with a carrier oil in appropriate amounts for children, all you have to do is apply to your kids’ knees, elbows, shins, or any area of the skin that need extra love.
